The third edition of the Selangor Aviation Show (SAS 2023) held at Skypark RAC, Bukit Jelutong, Selangor, from Sept 7 to 9, 2023 took off today with huge success. SAS 2023 was officiated by YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Chief Minister of Selangor.
Hosted by the Selangor state government and organised by Invest Selangor Berhad, SAS 2023 once again provides a dynamic networking platform for global, regional and local aviation industry players, specifically within the business and general aviation sector to network, dialogue, and share their products and expertise.
Themed “The Only Business & General Aviation Show in the Region”, SAS 2023 offers a chance for all participants to experience all the excitement and innovation that the aviation industry holds, showcasing of the latest advancements and products within these sectors, with a focus on excellence, innovation and growth.
The primary focus of SAS 2023 however is to provide the networking platform for businesses in the region, and generate economic growth, using Selangor as the
gateway to the bigger market regionally.
“Our state has become a beacon for aerospace manufacturing, research, and engineering services, attracting global players and setting new standards,” said YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Chief Minister of Selangor.
He also emphasised that with an astounding 67% of the aerospace global players based right here in Selangor, SAS in 2022, recorded potential transactions worth up to RM1.069 billion, which he mentioned is a testament to the hard work and the vision of the government with the support from the industry players.
SAS 2023 is gaining increasing interest especially from global partners and he foresees that SAS would be the regional platform that plays a pivotal role to bridge industry players with potential investors and partners domestically and globally, making Selangor truly, ASEAN’s Business & General Aviation Hub.
“SAS 2023 promises to be the most exciting edition of this event to date. SAS 2023 expects to have over 20,000 visitors registered, with close to 50 static aircraft display, 33 forums and talks with 65 speakers,” said YB Ng Sze Han, State Executive Councillor for Investment, Trade, and Mobility at his first address to the aerospace and aviation community during the opening ceremony of SAS 2023. We are also anticipating total potential transactions worth up to RM700 million and more to be sealed this week,” he continued.
SAS 2023 will see strong representation by local aviation players, as well as feature from next participation from international players from United States of America, France, Denmark, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong.
Several highlights throughout the SAS 2023 include product, services and technology exhibitions, static aircraft displays, drone displays, networking sessions, numerous talks on the industry’s hot topics and the SAS 2023 Career Fair. The career fair will feature 25 top companies in the aviation industry to provide career opportunities for young and dynamic talents to shape the future of aerospace and aviation in Selangor.
Apart from the scheduled programmes, SAS 2023 witnessed several MOU exchanges. Some key highlights are between Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) (“MBI Selangor”) with six (6) key players within the Aerospace Industry, namely SIMAero, Sir Ventures, Dviation Group, Bibus Metals, Aerospace Malaysia Innovation Centre (AMIC) and Subang MRO. The scope of the MOUs is focused on the development of the Selangor Aero Park (SAP) for the Aerospace Industry here in Selangor and the region.
Interested trade visitors may still register to attend the SAS 2023, with some limitations to time slot availability. The public and students are encouraged to visit on the show’s third day on 9 September 2023.
