Kenaf Plantation Global (KPG), a company under Kenaf Venture Global (KVG) Group, welcomed Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Plantation and Commodity (MPC), YB Datuk Hajah Siti Aminah binti Aching to KPG kenaf processing line in Chuping Valley, Perlis, in conjunction with Trek Komoditi. KPG was represented by its President, Azman Ahmad, and the event was also attended by National Board of Kenaf and Tobacco (LKTN) representatives.

Trek Komoditi is a field trip program initiated by MPC, an initiative to advance the Malaysian commodity sector. The visit to Integrated Kenaf Industrial Park (IKIP), Batu Bertangkup, Perlis, is among the sites visited during Trek Komoditi in the North zone of West Malaysia.

KVG sees the initiative as a significant platform for KVG and to establish a stronger relationship and communication with the government. It is dedicated to playing an active role in the initiative implementation. By collaborating closely with the government at events like Trek Komoditi, KVG aims to foster a mutually beneficial partnership that will result in sustainable growth and advancement for the Malaysian fibre industry. The exchange of ideas and expertise during the event will further enhance KVG’s ability to contribute effectively to the industry’s development.

Commenting on the participation of the program, “the current KPG processing line in IKIP is KPG’s pilot project for a new processing line in Chuping Valley Industrial Area (CVIA). We have gained attention from the Perlis state government, and thus we have been offered to acquire 6 acres of industrial plot at CVIA by the Perlis state government. It is in KVG’s plan to build a production line for kenaf-based fibre in CVIA in 2024 for commercial and export capacity with more advanced technology”, said Azman.

One of the primary impacts that KVG aims to achieve through our initiatives is the creation of continuous job opportunities. As KVG expands the production capabilities and increases its presence in the global market, more employment opportunities will be generated, contributing to the overall economic development of the country. Additionally, by elevating the Malaysian fibre industry’s prominence on the global map, KVG is actively positioning Malaysia as a key player in this sector, attracting international investments and strengthening the nation’s economy. KVG is thrilled to be at the forefront of developing the fibre industry and fully supports the government’s mission and to be receiving support from the government.
